Wayne R. Amber, Ph.D.

Dr. Amber is an Environmental Engineer with a strong academic background and about seven years of experience as an environmental/civil engineering consultant. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering (B.Eng.) and a Doctorate of Philosophy Degree in Geoenvironmental Engineering (Ph.D.) from the University of Wales Cardiff, and is now an environmental engineering consultant in Michigan.

His graduate/postgraduate-level academic research generally encompassed: site investigation methodologies for land contaminated with petroleum and chlorinated solvents; lab-based biotreatability studies employing various enhanced natural (biological) attenuative processes; and lab-based methodologies for the chemical, physical and biological analysis of soil and groundwater samples. He taught several undergraduate civil engineering design classes. Additionally, Dr. Amber assisted in the preparation of Persistent Organic Pollutant (POP) guidance documentation for the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).

Dr. Amber’s professional experience and responsibilities have included: various corrective measure and feasibility studies under the RCRA and CERCLA Programs; remediation system designs and field implementations, with a focus on bioremediation technologies; environmental due diligence support through Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments; coordination of various field investigations (e.g., environmental sampling, hydrogeologic testing, etc); project management (e.g., client liaison and budget tracking); and solid waste and geotechnical design.

Danielle Amber, M.Eng., P.E.

Danielle Amber is a Civil Engineer with over ten years of experience working for consultant engineering companies within both the UK and US. She has a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Design, and Management from the University of Wales Cardiff and is now a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Michigan.

Ms. Amber’s graduate studies covered a wide range of engineering skills, including structures, geotechnical engineering, materials, hydraulics, transportation, etc. and her thesis focused on hydraulic engineering and modeling. Her Master’s degree also had a strong emphasis on development of project management and design skills.

Ms. Amber’s has worked professionally in four different consultancies since graduating; one in the UK, and three in the US (Florida and Michigan). Her experience has included significant environmental and/or ecological elements: river and floodplain remediation, coastal wetland regeneration, computer modeling of rivers and floodplains, highway development within environmentally sensitive floodplain areas, development of sustainable urban drainage systems, and environmental assessments. She has extensive experience in the development of design documents, construction drawings, and technical specifications for a variety of projects and has also assisted with the preparation of environmental impact assessments. Ms. Amber is also skilled in the use of AutoCAD and GIS for development of drawings.
